About us

Premium engineering is a leading Somalia-based, independent firm of consulting engineers, specializing in the design, development, and construction of new mining projects, and the refurbishment of existing ore processing plants and associated infrastructure. Premium engineering performs front-end engineering design, due diligence, and independent reviews, mineral process and infrastructure designs, technical studies, engineering, procurement, construction and management (EPCM) project deliveries, cost estimations and financial analysis services.

Our expertise is the design, engineering, project management, procurement and construction of such plants. Our personnel currently provide technical services to the mining industry in Africa, the Americas, Asia, Europe, Russia, Central Asian Republics, the Middle East, and Australia. Premium engineering’s experienced employees have worked in the mining industry, worldwide, and are familiar with the current work practices and technologies for the treatment of mineral bearing ores.

Premium engineering has been certified by the British Standards Institution and deemed to operate Business Management Systems that comply with the requirements of BS EN ISO 9001 for Quality Management and 14001 for Environmental Management.

Engineering Consultancy

We provides engineering expertise, ranging from process engineers, mechanical engineers, civil and structural engineers, to electrical, piping and instrumentation engineering teams. GBM provides all planning and design requirements for a mineral processing project.

Project Management

We focuses on providing high quality services, whilst maintaining accurate budgeting and timely scheduling. This is ensured by the production of accurate technical reports and by maintaining open communications between the Client and the on-site personnel.

Architectural Design

Premium’s construction management teams ensure the smooth delivery of the project’s construction phase, whilst adhering to the design schedule, and delivering the high quality construction, accurate budgeting, and mandatory safety protocols. Our supervisors and other construction teams liaise with all involved, and are on-site to provide technical advice.

MANAGEMENT TEAM

Abdullahi Abdulkadir, Founder and CEO

Mr. Abdullahi received First-Class B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Lahore, Pakistan and a Master of Science in Structural Engineering from University Science Malaysia, Penang – Malaysia in 2010. He has delivered consulting services for hundreds of engineering assignments in public and humanitarian aid projects in the past ten years. He combines technical background, business expertise and knowledge in a variety of building types including health and educational facilities, community centres, governmental offices, drainage systems and boreholes, roads, residential, commercial and retail buildings. In the last one and a half year, he worked as a lead Senior Engineer with IOM’s Somali Stability Initiative Program

Abdisalam Abdullahi Adan, Engineering Consultancy

Mr. Abdisalam earned Master degree on Highway and Transportation Engineering from University Tun Husein Onn (UTHM), Malaysia in 2010 where he graduated with B.Sc. of Civil Engineering from University of Engineering and Technology Peshawar (UET Peshawar), Pakistan in 2008. He worked as a field engineer with Sarhad Rural Support Programme (Pakistan) during his degree period and gained extensive experience as a lead and principal engineer in several construction projects with Geedi Construction and Real Estate in Somalia from the year 2012. He also served as a lecturer at the faculty of engineering at Banadir University where he led classes on Transportation Engineering, Road and Airport Design and Construction Management classes for four years until the end of 2014

Kononden Kipkurui Ralph, Director - Projects

Mr. Ralph graduated from the University of Nairobi with a Bachelor of Science in Civil and Structural Engineering in 2015. He worked since 2014 as a site supervisor, project coordinator, project engineer, materials engineer and as a consultant for numerous projects in Kenya and recently in Somalia. He is knowledgeable about multiple project delivery methods, project management models, and have expertise in scope, schedule, financial and risk management techniques with exposure to working in remote and challenging locations. Mr. Ralph worked recently in a major World Bank-funded infrastructure project in Mogadishu as he gained a solid foundation in project development, coordination, and execution within the Somali context before joining Premium Engineering in 2019.

Mohamed M. Salad, Director – Structural and Architectural Design

Mr. Mohamed received B.Sc. of Civil Engineering from University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore, Pakistan in 2009 and earned Master of Structural Engineering and Construction from faculty of Civil Engineering at University Putra Malaysia in 2012. Throughout the years, Mohamed has garnered extensive knowledge of the construction industry, including architectural design, project management, and site supervision, quality control and assurance, design coordination and contract administration as his first job placement was in Djibouti where he has completed several projects for Al-Buruuj Construction. Mr. Mohamed later worked on numerous consulting roles as an architectural designer for several construction companies in Somalia
